Romania joined the European Union

Finally, Romania joined the EU! Is this good or bad? For whom is this beneficial?
Towards the end of 2006, a lot was said about Romanians coming to UK. Most of it was bad press, with the Sun newspaper leading the way, explaining to its readers the threats posed by Romanians as well as the forthcoming Romanian invasion to the UK.
Funny enough, an invasion seemed to have happened, but not quite the predicted one: since Romania joined the EU, more Britons travel to Romania then Romanians travelling to Britain. Research from MRI Overseas Property reveals that one in seven (13 per cent) of the Britons who are thinking about buying a property abroad are considering either Bulgaria or Romania.
To summarise, buying a property in Romania is likely to be a good investment for 2007; due to the influx of EU money, via private investors, the price of housing is likely to increase further.
