Euroclub Residential complex - ongoing project by the Vacaresti lake

The Vacaresti area in Bucharest used to be rather busy and mixed in quite a few people until the communist era. In the 1980s bulldozers transformed it, as quite a few other places in Bucharest, into a large green field, mostly without the consent of the inhabitants, and several blocks of flats were built around the Vacaresti lake. Nearly 20 years later, the lake itself is a ruin surrounded by land disputed by the initial owners, but more and more deserted areas around it are getting populated with office buildings, show rooms, posh villas, and blocks of flats. While the image might sound depressing, the area is actually flourishing and all the land plots that are no longer under dispute are now hosting a sale sign, an ongoing project, or a building.

Euroclub Residential Complex - Vacaresti lake, BucharestThe Euroclub residential complex is one of the few ongoing real estate projects in this area. It consists of a single, 12-story block of flats, positioned just by the lake. It is interesting to note its position, which is not in one of the heavily advertised areas of Bucharest, but it allows very fast access to Unirii Square through a rather decongested route (the actual distance between the area and the centre of Bucharest is probably just over 1 mile). The prices are average, ranging between €1100/sqm and €1450/sqm. In terms of size, the studio flats are the ones to impress – the largest studio flats stretch over 75sqm; yes the figure does include 12sqm of balcony, but with a 35sqm lounge, you still get quite a bit of space. At the other end of the scale, the largest 2bedroom flats are just under 170sqm; you will need to check the acoustics though, as the lounge is no less than 40sqm.

Work on the Euroclub residential complex has started a while ago. According to the developer, AMDF Imobiliare, the building will be delivered towards the end of this year. It seems that the project is not sold out yet, so you can contact AMDF in case you are interested, either for one of their flats or even for the commercial space available on the ground floor (for which though you will have to pay though €1700/sqm). The payment can be done in two instalments – 30% when signing the contract + 70% when the construction finishes.
