Tomis Plus opens the season for large seaside projects nearby Constanta

As the hot season starts soon, let’s move from the fast and busy life of Bucharest to seaside, on the Black Sea Riviera. In comparison with Bucharest and other cities of Romania, such as Sibiu, Cluj, and Timisoara, the resorts around the Black Sea beaches have seen only a few real estate projects.

Tomis Plus development project in ConstantaOne large residential development which caught our attention is the Tomis Plus project. Tomis Plus is a hefty €70million investment of the Romanian property developer Tomis Development.
Soon after the launch of the project, the demand of apartments and houses within Tomis Plus complex exceeded the offer, which convinced the developers to redesign the development and increased the number of apartments and house with approximately 75%. To talk figures, the initial blueprint included 584 houses within Tomis Plus, based on a €40 million investment; now however, the project includes a total of 1,399 homes - 1,218 apartments and 47 villas stretching over a 128,000sqm area.

Tomis Plus will be situated on the outskirts of Constanta, towards the Mihail Kogalniceanu airport on the Tomis Boulevard. For those of you eying regional airports – you might have to reconsider, as Kogalniceanu airport is manly cargo and military. Constanta, known previously under the name of Tomis, is the largest Romanian seaport on the Black Sea. The name has deep roots in history when this region was a Greek colony and nowadays the city has many history landmarks from Greeks, Romans and Turks. Going back to its location, Tomis Plus will be in close vicinity of the Carrefour supermarket (now that is a landmark you can rely on 100%) and the Ton commercial galleries, and will have close access to Autostrada Soarelui (Sun Highway, the second motorway in Romania, currently under construction), Constanta city centre and Mamaia Resort (one of the most well-known resorts of the Black Sea front).

Within its large footprint, Tomis Plus will include apartments with surface area ranging from 42.1 up to 241.7sqm in four to eight floor story buildings and villas covering between 126.18 and 216sqm with up to two floors.

The work for this assembly started in November last year and is due to finalise in stages by the end of 2011. The first stage, which includes 10 detached and semi-detached villas are close to being finished.

We will provide more details on this property in the near future.
